Everything is Perfect Records

Independent record label with an eclectic range of experimental & genre-bending music that is often difficult to label or categorise.

Everything is perfect records was founded in 2018 by Tony Bontana & Sink600 following conversations around the need for a Musical creative hub in their hometown of Birmingham. Tony & Sink both have musical backgrounds in the Punk / Hardcore scene and through this a passion for the DIY ethos and community aspect of underground music bought the two together to form the label.

The label’s first official release was Tony’s first instalment of the Tony Tape Series (Volume 1) which began to flesh out the eclectic sounds and influences to follow from the label and its artists. Shortly after Sink600 released “The Tyskie Tape” which further solidified the labels unique sound which in turn came the phrase “Splayed” to encapsulate the loose and disjointed yet perfectly put together sound of music the pair were creating.

2019 saw the label branch out to the United States to release California band ZULUs debut EP “Our Day Will Come” with production and vocal contributions from Tony Bontana the release has gone on to be considered a modern classic in the Punk & Metal worlds respectively.

Following a turbulent year Bontana recruited Midland’s Producer turned producer/rapper oghost following a live beat set at local event Mystic Brew that blew Tony away. The pair went on to create the “Twice Thrice Three Times” EP seeing oghost classic yet modern Hip Hop Production complement Bontanas Raw, Heartfelt Lyrics. Shortly after, Tony came across aloisius; who had been putting on his own independent rap shows in Birmingham, and his friend Spruce who was starting to develop a keen eye for film photography, & an interest in production. Tony decided to Book aloisius for one of his legendary house shows after seeing a lot of potential from a slew of flips & videos aloisius was posting online at the time.

aloisius then started taking on further responsibilities with the label after being asked to co-manage with Tony. After aloisius moved to London to study Sound Arts, he developed his close network of artists he worked with and began to branch out intro different sounds.

Noticing a gap in the live music scene in London, aloisius & Tony created a bi-monthly series of events titled ‘Splayworld’ as a home for the splayed music we were pushing, and a comfortable non-pretentious space for music that wasn’t yet being represented in live events.

With the core foundation of the label firmly in place the group continued to hone in on the “Splayed” sound and respectively dropping projects prolifically over the following years.

The rest is history.
